Feels great to be with you today!

Yes! It is done and I’m crazy in love with it 🙂

My Giant is 48 rounds + the border… It measures 135x135cm…

The yarn is “Nako Vizon” a 100% acrylic yarn crocheted with a 4.5mm hook…

I enjoyed sooo much crocheting this blanket …

Specially the yellow border! (OOH how I love making borders 🙂 )

I used this border as it reminds me of the granny’s small squares… You can find its graphic pattern here! It is very simple to make and it looks great with a granny square 😉

No more words just more pics… 😉

Hope you enjoyed 😀

There is a lot of wonderful blankets on flickr here and on Ravelry here….Go take a peek, it really worth a visit 🙂

Mine has 38 rounds so far and it is very big already…I think it is because the yarn I’m using is a little chunky…

The days are getting hotter and hotter here (36 Celsius) and I have some difficulties putting it on my lap while crocheting 🙂

But I’m enjoying every single stitch …and that what counts 😀

This is my favorite pic so far:

Good morning !

How’s your morning? Are you enjoying like myself the first days of summer with the birds singing outside and the sun shining high? Mmmmh it feels so great when the weather is good…

So today, as promised, I’ll show you some crochet goodies I brought with me from Istanbul and two new projects I started when I got home …

First, there is some colorful crochet hooks I could not resist buying as I can not find any here in Beirut… I paid 1T.L (Turkish Lira) for each hook…that makes 0.38 british pound (or 0.6 USD) 🙂

some cute little buttons…

and of course yarn 🙂 the best yarn I ever touched in my whole life… soooooo soft and with bright colors 🙂

It is called Nako baby …It is a mixture of 50%acrylic and 50%polyamid…I think this polyamid thing is what makes it soooo soft …and a pure pleasure to work with …

As for the price it is really cheap as I bought one (100gr) for 2.5 T.L (Turkish lira) that makes 0.95 British pound (or 1.5 USD) for one ball of 100g! Can you believe it ???

So, as you already guessed, I started something with this new yarn…a blanket 🙂

a stripy colorful baby blanket…one color for each row…all with treble…

but as you can see in the pic above, I am working the trebles in the back of every stitch…(inserting the hook not in all the stitch but in the back side of the stitch only) that makes it looks like this and I love how the lines are appearing…did you notice ?

and this is my second wip…

a granny square??? pffffffffffff

No, no, no, not any granny square 🙂

These are the first 6 rounds of a giant granny square…a real G I A N T one….with like 100 rounds !!!

So, who wants to join me in this great adventure and make your proper giant granny??? It will be a great challenge to make a really big one with all the leftover yarns you have …and it will become a beautiful loved blanket I am sure!!

Ooooh I am so thrilled with this project 🙂 Join me join me join me !!! pleaaaaaaaaaaase!! 😀

Have to go now my friend!

Thank you so much for visiting today!

Have a wonderful week wherever you are!

Granny love

Hello!

These past few days I’ve been making the final touches of “granny love”

Doesn’t feel great when you are cutting the yarn ends and thinking about the joy this blanket will give to someone ?

I will offer this blanket to a friend of mine who’s giving birth in July… This friend is in love with grannies and (like myself ) she don’t love soft pastels colors for babies 🙂 She’s giving birth to a baby boy but she wants her blanket to be full of bold colors (purple included) 🙂 so here it is: Granny love!

I made this blanket a little bigger (85x105cm) than the normal-baby-blanket-size as it will be used during the cold days not before December and the baby will be 6 months old…

I used my favorite acrylic yarns the Nako brand and a 4.5mm crochet hook …

and made a simple picots edging with the off-white color…

I think the picots-edge is a quick and very nice type of edging…and the result turns out always beautiful 🙂

Ooooh how I love grannies ! I think that the multi-colored-granny-square is the first thing people should learn in crochet…as they will be hooked forever 😉

Here is a final pic before leaving you my friend…Hope you liked “granny love”!

Have a wonderful week end and thank you for visiting!

P.S: I am making progress on my “vintage blanket” and I am enjoying it sooo much…will show you something for sure next time 😉

Good morning my friend,

Hope all is going great with you…

So, here I am back again with two new wip 🙂 two cushions I am making right now… (yes, time for cushions again 😉 )

The first one is a “circle of joy” orange cushion…

it has to do with a new painting I bought recently and I’ll let you know all about it next time…

You can find the pattern I am using for this cushion here.

My 2nd wip is a normal granny one…crocheted with the ricco creative cotton…

I just love the brightness of this yarn 🙂

Time to leave you now…

Have a beautiful day and see you soon 😉

Good morning lovelies,

How are you today? We’ve got a beautiful Easter here and the girls are still on vacation for a week…They’ll be back to school on the 3d of May and I’ll be back to my normal not-a-full-time-mom life 🙂

This is an old wood stool I’ve had in my garage …

that I decided to bring back to “life” …with some crochet of course…

I used the Ricco creative cotton with a 4mm hook…Perfect for the flowers 🙂

And while I was working with the cotton yarn I decided to finish a cushion I started months ago…The cushion needed 2 more rounds…and a hand stitch  to a fabric one 😉

Love when I finish small projects…

It’s been a productive week!! (sigh of happiness 🙂 )

Have a great monday!

Hello lovelies,

I should now be finishing my fairy tale blanket, but I could not resist beginning two projects…

I promise to you that I’ll have a “tadaa” fairy tale post very soon, very very soon but I have to show you what’s on my creative table right now 😉

A rectangle cushion for my living room…crocheted with the leftover Stylecraft special DK yarns…and it turning out lovely…

and…

a new blanket (yes another blanket, I can not stop crocheting blankets 🙂 ) This one I am making it as a gift for a dear friend of mine who’s in love with grannies 🙂

I’m using fresh colors and making the last round of every square with the off-white (very light beige) color…It is turning out beautiful … and I can feel that it will become a lovely blanket…

I am using this yarn for the “grannies love”…It is a 100% acrylic yarn…very soft with beautiful colors…

I’m in love with this Turkish brand 🙂

Thank you for your visit today, It is always a pleasure having you here at Le monde de Sucrette 😉

Have a beautiful day!

Good morning sweeties,

I finished doing the border of another blanket of mine … This blanket was made by my mom as a gift on our wedding in 2004 so it is a very loved blanket, mostly used by my husband because it is our biggest blanket so it can cover him entirely when he’s watching TV 🙂 I’ll show it to you today with its new blue border …

Here it is in the living room surrounded by crochet, crochet everywhere 🙂I tried making the border by crocheting grannies with picots and it turned out very nice…

Here it is in all its glory with its new blue border 🙂

I also enjoy showing you the environment where this loved blanket lives…in the living room…my favorite place in the house 🙂

I just love this big room where all the family members love to snuggle under blankets and enjoy little pleasures life is offering 🙂 It just make me smile looking at the pics…

Wanna see what’s on the shelves?…Let’s have a peek shall we? 😉

and some close ups…

As you maybe already noticed I love small objects and cats in particular…I have a collection of them and you can see cats everywhere in the house 🙂

and I love this photo frame a gift from my sister 🙂 Remembering warms the heart 🙂

Two more pics of the blanket before leaving you my dear…

I enjoyed soooo much sharing with you these pics, hope you enjoyed them too…

Now I am working on two new wip 😉 I’ll leave them as a suprise for you for next time…

Have a beautiful day,

Sucrette
